Air quality and your skin, by city
What the air is doing in each city, and what that means for skin. The readings update through the day; the guidance is written once per climate zone, because cities that share a climate share a problem.
Punjab smog belt
Dense winter particulates, hard water, and a sharp humidity drop after monsoon. The highest PM2.5 readings in the country sit here, and not always in the city people expect.
Sindh coast
High humidity year round, salt-laden air and strong UV. The air is comparatively clean; the humidity is the problem.
Northern foothills
Cleaner air than the plains for much of the year, with the sharpest seasonal swings. Skin that copes all summer often turns in late October.
Southern Punjab dry heat
Extreme heat and very low humidity. Dust rather than industrial smog, and sun exposure that runs higher than the smog belt because the air is clearer.
Sindh interior
Hot and dry inland, with dust and some of the highest temperatures recorded in the country. Different from the coast despite the same province.
Balochistan highland
High altitude, very low humidity, large day to night temperature swings, and the strongest UV in the country because of elevation and clear air.
